hitchhikers

Sunday afternoon, we were driving to my parents house.  We had to stop by a gas station to fill our tire up.  As we were about to fill the tire, a young couple walked up to Michael.  I was in the car and coudn't hear what was being said.  After a few minutes, Michael opened my door and explained the couples situation.
They had been driving back from Vegas.  They were celebrating their first anniversary.  Their car broke down in the gorge.  There was no service, so they had to hitch a ride to St. George to make a few phone calls.  Now, they needed a ride back to their car to meet the tow truck.  They asked us for a ride.
Usually I am hesitant, especially with all my kids in the car.  However, they really did look like a nice decent couple.
So, we took them to their destination.  We laughed and joked with them the whole time.  They didn't have any kids yet, and so our kids showed them what it was truly like to travel with children :)
After driving away from them, Michael asked our kids "Wasn't that nice of us to help them out?"
All three kids said no.  SO much for trying to be a good example of service!
