Flirty Thirty

I woke up to a cinnamon roll, a Dr. Pepper and coupons all over the house. I don't mind birthdays. I don't feel old, even though I am now in my thirties. I was thinking yesterday of all the birthdays I have had and all the wonderful and kind gifts I have received.

My absolute favorite present was when I was eight. I was lucky enough to be baptized on my birthday. It was a fantastic day, and it ended with my parents taking me to Subway (my favorite restaurant at the time). My favorite part about that was that I was given permission to get a sugar cookie after my food. I know it sounds lame, but I loved it.

In high school, my sister Anne bought me some tulips for my birthday. They died within a few days, due to my lack of a green thumb. However, I loved the flowers.

When I lived in New York, I took many pictures (all with disposable cameras). On my birthday, my friends got together and bought me my first camera. I remember feeling so overwhelmed with gratitude for them thinking of me. They also got me a huge vase of white tulips. They were gorgeous.

While at SUU, my friends took me on a trip to Cafe Rio on my birthday. I missed Cafe Rio and was thrilled to be eating there.

When Michael and I were engaged, he wrote me a story of our future for my birthday. It even had the kids we would have and their names (completely different than what we actually chose). I loved that story and the time he took to write it.

2 years ago, Michael covered the driveway with chalk birthday wishes. It must have taken him forever, but it looked awesome.

Last year, Michael took me to the Michael Buble concert. We had an amazing time!

Those are just a small amount of the many wonderful things that have happened to me on my birthday.

Yesterday Nora wrote me a birthday note.
So, Happy Birthday to me :)
